Molecular Quantum Solutions ApS (MQS)
MQS provides computational tools to accelerate research & development efforts by the pharma, biotech and chemical industry.
Our tools make use of super- and quantum-computers with computational models and algorithms to calculate the properties of materials and chemicals in a fast and efficient way.
Our users are able to screen e.g. new materials for batteries, green solvents and new drugs instead of conducting costly experiments in the laboratory.
Currently we are 10 people working at Alfa Laval Innovation House with funding from the Innovation Fund Denmark. At the moment we are focusing on finishing up our MVP and onboarding the first customers.
What you will be doing:
As our Lead Backend Developer you will work with our DevOps engineers and scientific tools developers on further improving a full-fledged, cloud-based software tool with a seriously cutting-edge infrastructure. Your tasks will mostly be related to the database development, population and maintenance while also developing the application programming interface (API).
What do you need to know?
Data mining, database population, database deployment (PostgreSQL and Python)
Defining API endpoints for a single page application with a Python API package
Expertise in database performance tuning
You document your work thoroughly (putting this twice because it’s really important)
A strong plus would be to have expertise in hybrid cloud database solutions consisiting of a permanent on-premise storage and a database hosted on a cloud provider platform (e.g. AWS, Azure, IBM, Google)
Don’t get too hung up on fulfilling every last requirement perfectly. We know it’s always a learning journey, so don’t let imposter syndrome get the best of you. You just need to help us understand how you can compensate for any missing skills and we’ll together talk it through from there.
