These positions will suit exp APS6 or EL1 candidates with grants & or program management exp, stakeholder engagement skills and a science degree. Our client a Federal Government Department that facilitates health and medical research in Australia is looking for highly motivated APS6 (up to 4 positions available) and EL1 (up to three positions available) candidates to join a busy new team that is responsible for conducting grant opportunities on behalf of the Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF).
Team members will have proven skills to lead a small team with responsibility for grant selection processes in accordance with published guidelines and Australian Government best practice. Team members might be involved in identifying and contacting suitable experts, establishing and supporting assessment committee meetings, working on grant guidelines, and responding to applicant queries.
We’re looking for dynamic and self-motivated people with outstanding stakeholder management skills who can quickly grasp new processes and procedures. Communication skills and the ability to keep yourself organised will be important. You’ll have a graduate or postgraduate qualification (or equivalent) in a science-related field.
You will gain an understanding of health and medical research grant processes ‘from the inside’, and experience first-hand the grants system, as well as build your experience in program management.

Positions are available immediately and contracts vary from 6-12 months in length initially, some positions may lead to a non-ongoing opportunity with the agency for the right candidate.
