Backend software engineer for our cloud simulation platform for the green energy sector

Would you like to take part in developing a new state-of-the-art simulation solution for the green energy sector? At Energy Machines we design and build green energy solution for the building sector. In the R&D simulations team, we create software applications that can simulate energy systems. These applications help our energy engineers design optimal solutions for new buildings and optimise existing systems.

We’re looking for a developer to work with us on our new simulation platform numerous, which consists of a python-based computation engine, and a cloud-based platform for simulation and analysis.

You will be working out of our offices in BLOX in central Copenhagen helping us design, develop and mature our simulation platform. We are a small team, and our workflow is agile and fast, taking offset in real-world cases we are solving for our customers in the Nordic countries and globally. We work together with well-known international brands, and we have a collaboration with DTU. We are fans of open source and are involving us in the community with our solutions.

Our products include performance leading heat pump system solutions, leading product range of highly efficient ventilation units and our ambitious cloud-based remote monitoring, controls, and analytics platform. We pride ourselves in being energy rebels, meaning for us to be always doing things better and never settle for the status quo in our drive to accelerate the green transformation within the building energy space and beyond.

Your key tasks will be to:

Design, develop and deploy scalable backend systems that utilize cloud technologies (we use Google Cloud)

Develop new features and optimizing the systems that run our simulations.

Work on our backend API for launching and managing simulations.

Help take our solutions to production-grade in collaboration with our small offshore team of skilled developers.

Your competences include that you:

Hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree of computer science, software development or similar.

Possess experience developing SW projects using cloud technologies

Experience with Python, Kubernetes and Docker

Experiences with database development and a good understanding of different database technologies (Wide column, document-based, etc.)

Thrive in an informal work setting with lots of autonomy, where you get to help develop the vision of our product.

Comfortable providing opinions on technologies, features and best practices.

Communicate fluently in written and spoken English.
