Pricing Analyst – Merchant Acquiring

Ensuring robust end to end product and pricing management disciplines are employed in the design, development, implementation and maintenance of the portfolio across customer and product lifecycle.

They are seeking an experineced Pricing Analyst – Merchant Acquiring to join there busy team.

The Role

The primary objective of the role is to support the day to day functioning of the Merchant Pricing function and to support the delivery of business initiatives aiming to deliver exceptional customer and business outcomes during a period of intense regulation and change across the industry.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assessment of changes to the business cost base and portfolio impacts
  • Provision of portfolio performance analysis, financial modelling and reporting
  • Maintaining product profitability models and pricing discretion
  • Reviewing of existing processes and procedures and recommending productivity savings
  • Understand issues and opportunities facing business customers by interacting with network and assisting, where required, with stakeholders on complex transactions.
  • Monitor competitiveness of product pricing propositions, trends in the market and customer demands
  • Ensure internal and external compliance and policy requirements are observed
  • Partnering with internal and external stakeholders to ensure superior customer service and advocacy through improved process and policy, product pricing strategies, marketing campaigns and provision of sales education/information.
  • Support the assessment of portfolio pricing strategies that enable each business segment and brand to achieve their respective strategies, customer value propositions, market position and financial targets.
  • Support the assessment of portfolio pricing strategies that deliver against plan and optimise portfolio profitability, process effectiveness, diversification, mix and growth, cost, and risk management.

The Person

  • Tertiary qualifications in business, finance, accounting and commerce or related discipline
  • 3+ years in a pricing / business analyst position or related roles in the financial services industry, ideally with experience in Merchant Acquiring
  • High capacity for numerical and analytical thinking and functioning
  • Ability to work under pressure with shifting priorities in a dynamic work environment
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Proven track record of identifying business improvement opportunities
  • Excellent problem solving and evaluative judgement skills
  • Knowledge of the legal, compliance and regulatory framework of the products, including risk
  • Proven skills in organising, effective problem solving and decision making
  • Ability to build relationship across senior managers and peers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
