In FAAS we work with our clients’ finance teams and wider organisation to provide practical, hands-on support and solutions relating to accounting, financial reporting and internal controls in times of change or challenge. We combine technical accounting skills in IFRS, and AASB standards, practical experience in financial reporting, as well as deep sector and regulatory knowledge.
We are looking for a Senior within the Financial Accounting Advisory Services team in the Brisbane office. This role is offered on a full-time basis, however, reduced hours will be considered.
Your key responsibilities
Plan, manage and participate in various engagements (application of accounting standards, review of financial accounting processes and internal controls, design and provide tailored training, implement intelligent automation and / or data analytics solutions, and others
Understand the client’s industry sector and recognize key performance drivers, business trends, and new technical and industry developments
Prepare deliverables tailored to client needs
Supervise small engagement teams and review work performed
Skills and attributes for success
- Project management skills with a proven ability to execute under pressure
- Impeccable client relationship skills
- Audit or business experience in process improvement and / or assessment of design effectiveness of internal controls
- Required: CA or equivalent professional qualification
Ideally, you’ll also have
A degree in accounting and/or other appropriate academic major and a minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience
Knowledge in accounting standards (IFRS and / or AASB standards)
A natural thirst for knowledge and continuous learning and improvement
