We are a team of highly skilled developers, designers and product managers working together with some of the worlds most well known .com’s and some lesser known start-ups to create meaningful products.
We work in agile teams using the very best practices available to create smart solutions for businesses and missions we believe in (that means no wagering, mining or big bad banks). We are based in Melbourne CBD in some sweet offices in the Donkey Wheel House (but these days, we are all working from home).
Role:
Helping to understand the needs of our clients and making balanced recommendations on their technology needs.
Working with existing codebases and tech teams to understand their limitations and uplift their quality.
Following industry best practices for test driven development of software, and the reduction and handling of defects.
Developing high quality and maintainable code that meets our client’s real world needs and also sets them up for success with best practices and compliance with their existing standards.
Aiding collaboration with our clients by providing clear communication, processes and documentation.
Providing estimates for upcoming features and evaluating them against actual time taken as we go, to keep our work anchored in the financial realities of our client’s business.
Giving balanced advice and expertise across a range of software techniques, tools and languages to allow our clients to make informed decisions.
Responsibilities:
Work closely with our product managers, designers and engineers to shape great technology
Promoted best practice software development with scalable and well tested code
Explore new ways of solving problems with pair programming, discovery workshops and retros
Practice Agile ways of working
Work through the whole development lifecycle, from helping surface additional requirements, through architecture and domain modelling, to implementation, testing, documentation and maintenance.

Experience required:
3 years experience with either Ruby on Rails, Java or Javascript
Some skills forming across multiple languages
Exposure to devops would be a great addition (AWS/ Heroku)
TDD & BDD, focus on object orientation skills
Consulting experience/Stakeholder Management
Experience working in an agile environment
Computer Science Bachelor
