The Faculty of Business and Economics at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf is inviting applications for the position of a
W3 professorship for Data Science in Business and Economics
as of October 1st, 2021 or later.
We are looking for a candidate who is outstandingly qualified in the field of data science in the context of economics and/or business administration. In particular, a focus on applied modern methods of data collection and analysis such as machine learning and artificial intelligence is expected, for example for the analysis and design of corporate and individual decision making processes, information systems or the acceptance of artificial intelligence.
Publications in internationally renowned scientific journals, success in the acquisition of competitive third-party funding and proof of excellent research are expected. Very good performance in university teaching, the ability to represent the subject “Data Science” in its breadth in business and/or economic issues, and a high level of commitment in university self-administration are also expected. International research experience is desirable. Participation in the faculty’s business and economics graduate programs as well as in the area of concentration “Audit | Digitization | Data Science” or empirical economics is expected. Furthermore, a commitment to the relevant university-wide activities such as the “Heine Center for Artificial Intelligence and Data Science” (HeiCAD) and the Manchot Research Group ” Decision-making with the help of Artificial Intelligence” is desired.
